Formerly known as the Rajiv Gandhi National Park, Nagarhole Tiger Reserve derives its name from the river 'Nagarahole', which translates to 'Serpent River' in the Kannada language. Among its inhabitants of the reserve are tigers, leopards, Asiatic wild dogs, sloth bears, Asiatic elephants, gaurs, sambar deer, chital deer, muntjacs, four-horned antelopes, wild pigs, mouse deer, and South-western langurs. It is renowned for its dense tiger population but in recent years, it has gained prominence for Saya, the Black Panther of Nagarhole, first sighted in the Kabini section during the 2014-2015 season. Saya's partner, Cleopatra, is celebrated as the most beautiful leopard in the region.
It is celebrated for its rich biodiversity and it is here, in the Kabini section, that Regenta Jungle Resorts invites guests to immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of nature's untouched paradise. Situated on the edge of the Nagarhole Tiger Reserve, where the Kabini River weaves its way through dense jungles, lies the serene and enchanting Regenta Jungle Resorts, Kabini Springs. This haven for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers promises an unforgettable retreat amidst the pristine beauty of southern India's wilderness.
At Regenta Jungle Resorts, luxury blends seamlessly with the natural surroundings. Each room and suite is elegantly designed, offering modern amenities and stunning views of either the lush courtyard or the majestic Kabini River. The River View Suites offer a spacious layout and exotic bathtub facilities.
Beyond luxurious accommodations, Regenta Jungle Resorts offers a host of curated experiences designed to connect guests with the essence of the jungle. Explore the nearby tribal village of the Jenu Kurubas, learning about their traditional way of life powered by solar energy. In the evenings, engage in enlightening documentary screenings that delve into the history and conservation efforts of Nagarhole Tiger Reserve. Popular for its thrilling jungle safaris by jeep or canter, the resort also offers boat safaris where you can spot a congregation of the Asiatic elephant, otters, marsh crocodiles and water birds . The newly introduced Coracle Ride offers a unique perspective of the Kabini River, where one can glide through its tranquil waters surrounded by trees over a hundred years old.
After a day of exploration, indulge in culinary delights at Tiger Trail, the resort's fine dining restaurant named after the majestic tigers that roam these lands. I am not a fan of buffets but this resort offers a really good variety of dishes with panoramic views of the Kabini River. For special occasions, the resort offers private dining experiences at picturesque locations, ensuring moments that are as unforgettable as they are romantic.
Regenta Jungle Resorts is also a haven for families, with a range of activities tailored for children including indoor and outdoor games. The large swimming pool offers a refreshing retreat, perfect for relaxation after a day of adventure in the wild.
Whether you're a wildlife enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply seeking a serene retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life, Regenta Jungle Resorts, Kabini Springs, is a great option. Surrounded by the untouched beauty of Nagarhole Tiger Reserve and the soothing flow of the Kabini River, every moment spent here is an opportunity to reconnect with nature.
