The Ritz-Carlton, Pune: A Luxe Urban Hideaway with Golf Course Views and Japanese Delights

Beside the iconic Poona Club Golf Course and just 20 minutes from Pune International Airport, The Ritz-Carlton, Pune is a rare blend of urban buzz and resort-style calm. Whether you’re in the city for business, a weekend of indulgence, or a special celebration, this 5-star hotel delivers on every front — with poise, polish, and just the right amount of pampering.

The Stay: Classic Luxury with a View

I checked into a Premier Room — a spacious one-bedroom suite that felt more like a sleek apartment than a hotel room. The attention to detail is worth a mention: a plush signature bed, deep soaking tub, his-and-her basins, and sweeping views of the golf course. Every amenity, from the 24-hour in-room dining to the thoughtful pillow menu, is designed to make you feel cocooned in comfort. A DIY welcome cocktail by their Japanese restaurant and bar - Ukiyo, added a touch of warmth and surprise.

If you’re travelling for work, the in-room workspace, high-speed Wi-Fi, and access to the residential Club Lounge on Level 18 make it easy to switch between hustle and unwind. If you’re not, even better — there’s a lot more to explore.

Food & Drink: Flavours for Every Mood

The culinary experience here deserves its own highlight reel. Three Kitchens Restaurant and Bar is an all-day dining space with — as the name suggests — three open kitchens dedicated to Indian, Asian, and Western cuisines. You can dine in the lounge, grab a cocktail at the bar, or settle in for a leisurely multi-course meal.

Upstairs at Aasmana, the rooftop bar and lounge, you get front-row seats to the Pune skyline and golf course, along with exceptional cocktails and a chic, grown-up vibe (it's 21+ only). It’s ideal for post-work drinks or celebratory evenings. They have an excellent selection of tequila and mezcal from around the world.

But the real surprise? Ukiyo, the hotel’s signature Japanese restaurant. It’s easily among the best Japanese meals I’ve had in India. The name means “to live in the moment,” and the experience delivers just that — beautifully plated sushi, contemporary twists on classic dishes, and a serene, minimalist setting.

There’s also an al fresco poolside grill where you can enjoy global fare and craft cocktails under the stars. Perfect for a romantic evening or a quiet solo dinner.

Wellness & Rejuvenation

Need a reset? Head to Level 4 where the Wellness Floor is located — complete with a temperature-controlled outdoor pool, fitness studio, and the serene Ritz-Carlton Spa. I booked a couple’s full-body massage, and it was fab. Eight private treatment rooms, expert therapists, steam rooms, and a soothing relaxation lounge — this is where the stress of city life quietly melts away. I hit the gym in the morning and what I loved is the private room that can be used for online classes.

Final Thoughts
